Fleet Maintenance Controller

Your new role

Delivering moments that matter is what we truly take pride in at the Sofa Delivery Company, and as a Fleet Maintenance Controller you will be playing an important part in the journey,
to ensure legal compliance and compliance with Operator Licence requirements for DFS’s fleet of vehicles and trailers.
Manage and control maintenance operations for the company fleet to ensure compliance and service levels are met and are within budget.

What you'll be doing


● Vetting and challenging pro-forma invoices for HGV vehicle repair
● Authorising Contractor work Creation and checking of Commercial Vehicle maintenance schedules in line with
Operator licence obligations
● Fleet Management System Data input Creation, process and review of cost reports
● Creation, process and review of Fuel Management reports Insurance process management including liaising with
insurance company (quotes, repair etc)
● Managing and distribution of national stocks/spares
● Compliance checking – service/inspection documents, LOLER documents, MOT’s, Tyre audits etc
● Contractor performance monitoring (charges, MOT pass rates, compliance etc)
● Fleet related project management Support VMU administration Road Fund Licensing
● Managing ‘follow up’ work – Post inspection, service, STE’s etc and ensuring relevant paperwork
● Close management and chasing of ‘Vehicle Off Road’ time. Other related duties as required

The role is for you if...

Essential;
● Experienced/Skilled vehicle engineer with NVQ, C&G in HGV repair or equivalent
● Recent experience in HGV/motor vehicle repair industry
● Working knowledge of the commercial vehicle industry
● Computer literate with basic knowledge of common systems i.e. excel, powerpoint, word etc
● Excellent cost control experience Excellent communicator
● Team player
● Commercially aware and able to identify opportunities without compromising quality

Desirable;
● Previous experience in similar role
● Experience of using “in house” Fleet Management systems
● C or CE driving licence.
● Experience of Goods Vehicle Operator licensing
● Experience in clerical systems
